Matthew McGilvray is an Associate Attorney at Anderson & Anderson Law, LLC. He is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and received his undergraduate degree in Global Studies and Spanish from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

After graduating from college, Matthew worked in international education at the University of Minnesota for over four years. He primarily worked as an Associate Institutional Relations Director at the Learning Abroad Center, where he managed university partnerships in the western U.S.  While in that position, Matthew attended law school part-time and, in 2019, interned part-time as a certified student attorney for the Ramsey County Public Defender.  

Matthew always had the goal of working in immigration law after graduating law school. During his undergraduate education, he spent three years volunteering through Open Door Learning Center where he taught English as a Second Language to immigrant adults in northeast Minneapolis. During law school, he volunteered with several different organizations and clinics that assisted the Twin Cities; immigrant population. In January 0f 2020, Matthew volunteered for one week in Dilley, Texas, where he worked with detained families who were recent arrivals to the U.S. He started working at Anderson & Anderson Law, LLC, in February of 2021.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys being around friends and family and being outside as much as possible, whether on the golf course or out running.
